Russian forces carried out the largest attack on Kyiv by number of damaged sites since the start of the war on May 24.
At least 87 people were injured and two killed as of the morning of May 25. Emergency crews continue working to eliminate the consequences of the attack in the Shevchenkivskyi and Podilskyi districts.
Civilian and administrative infrastructure was damaged at 49 locations — about 300 sites in total, including apartment buildings, museums, government buildings, shopping center premises and the Lukianivska metro station, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Russia attacked Ukraine with 690 aerial targets overnight on May 24, including 90 missiles and 600 drones, Ukraine’s Air Force reported. Kyiv was the main target of the attack.
Russia struck near the city of Bila Tserkva in Kyiv Oblast with an RS-26 Rubezh intermediate-range ballistic missile, known as Oreshnik, Yuriy Ihnat, head of communications at Ukraine’s Air Force, confirmed.
A garage cooperative and enterprise buildings were damaged in the Bila Tserkva district, the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration said.
