Russian attack on Kharkiv leaves 1 dead, 62 injured, including 6 children

Six children are among the victims, with four currently receiving medical aid.

28 people were hospitalized, with two remaining in critical condition.

Dozens of buildings in the city center suffered extensive damage in the attack, including the popular 5-star Palace Hotel.

While Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov initially mentioned the strike was from Russian Kinzhal ballistic missiles, police later clarified that Russian Iskander cruise missiles were used.

Russia launched a second attack in the evening, destroying a school and targeting a residential area with S-300 missiles.

Russia attacked Ukraine with 99 missiles in the morning. Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 72 of them, including all 10 Kinzhal missiles. Over 60 missiles were shot down in Kyiv Oblast.

Debris from the intercepted missiles destroyed seven high-rise apartments in the capital, killing at least five civilians. An elderly woman was killed after debris hit her apartment in the Solomyansky district. At least 130 more were injured.

Fatalities and injuries were also reported in Kyiv Oblast.
