Hostilities in the Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts caused power outages at substations and for households, but supply was restored through a backup system.
In Donetsk, shelling damaged an energy facility without causing casualties, while a drone attack on a substation in Dnipropetrovsk cut power to homes and industrial consumers, with partial restoration achieved.
Power was restored to over 19,000 consumers during the day.
On Sept. 6, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal warned that Russia is preparing new missile and drone attacks on Ukraine's energy sector, citing intelligence reports.
Attacks on Ukraine's power system
On Aug. 26, Russia launched 127 missiles and 109 attack drones at Ukraine, with the Air Force shooting down 102 missiles and 99 drones in the largest air attack since the full-scale invasion began.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said 15 oblasts were hit, and Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko described the situation in the energy sector as difficult.
On Aug. 29, Ukrenergo CEO Volodymyr Kudrytskyi said that while Ukraine faces many challenges this winter, a full blackout is not expected.
