“Yesterday, in one of the bomber aviation regiments, an ejection system was triggered on an aircraft standing in a shelter,” the channel wrote.
The pilot and navigator sustained injuries incompatible with life.
According to the propagandist, a state commission is investigating the incident.
Ukraine’s Air Force spokesperson, Yurii Ihnat, reacted to the story with sarcasm on Facebook.
“I really hope the explosive charges in both ejection seats, which slammed into the reinforced concrete ceiling, caused a ‘small fire onboard’—or at least triggered some other consequences ‘incompatible’ with further aircraft operation,” he wrote.
On Dec. 5, Ukraine’s Military Intelligence (HUR) reported that Ukrainian forces destroyed eight Russian military targets in temporarily occupied Crimea over the previous two weeks — including a Su-24 bomber. The intelligence agency said that The Ghosts special unit carried out the precision strikes.
