Russian drone strike leaves 26,000 without power in Chernihiv Oblast

“Bobrovytsia district came under enemy fire this morning. An energy facility was damaged,” the company said in a statement.

Repair crews have already begun restoration work, though progress will depend on the security situation, the utility added.

The Chernihiv Regional Military Administration confirmed the strike was carried out with drones.

“Enemy drones, reportedly Gerans, attacked Nizhyn district. Fires broke out at the impact sites but were extinguished. One strike hit an energy facility,” regional governor Vyacheslav Chaus said.

According to him, Russian forces attacked Chernihiv Oblast 20 times over the past day, with explosions recorded in 13 settlements.

The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched 65 attack drones of various types, including Shaheds and Gerbers, across Ukraine overnight. As of 9 a.m., air defenses had shot down or disabled 46 of them. Nineteen drones hit targets at six locations, while debris from downed UAVs fell in two more.

“The attack is still ongoing, with new groups of attack drones entering from the north and east,” the Air Force warned.
