Russian forces carried out another large-scale overnight attack on facilities operated by the Naftogaz Group in Poltava Oblast, using drones, Serhii Koretskyi, the company’s chief executive, said on Facebook on Feb. 8.

“There were direct hits. Assets and equipment were damaged. There were no casualties,” Koretskyi wrote.

Units of the State Emergency Service, emergency crews, technical services and all relevant units are working in an intensified mode to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

Koretskyi emphasized that this was the 19th targeted Russian attack on Naftogaz facilities since the beginning of 2026.

According to Ukraine’s Air Force, during the night into Feb. 8 Russia attacked Ukraine with 101 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas UAVs, as well as drones of other types.

As of 8:30 a.m., air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 69 Russian drones.

At the same time, 32 strike drones hit 13 locations, and falling debris was recorded at one location.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that over the past week Russia launched more than 2,000 strike drones, 1,200 guided aerial bombs and 116 missiles of various types at Ukraine.

The Ukrainian leader stressed that Russian forces strike energy facilities, logistics infrastructure and residential buildings almost daily.
