Horrifying video reveals Russian FPV drone hunting civilian vendor at Kherson market

The drone circled the civilian before detonating nearby.

According to National Police, the 52-year-old resident of Mykolaiv Oblast survived the attack, sustaining blast trauma, shrapnel wounds, and shell shock.

"This is precisely how Russians 'fight.' They intentionally hunt civilians. The man in the video shows no signs of being a combatant; he is simply selling goods at the market. Yet for the aggressor state's military, he remains a target," law enforcement officials stated.

Police noted that they are taking steps to properly document yet another war crime committed by the aggressor state's military.

Last year, UN investigators accused Russia of committing crimes against humanity. The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine concluded that Russia was guilty of committing such acts in Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. The findings were detailed in a report prepared following a large-scale investigation into a 10-month Russian drone campaign targeting Ukrainian civilians, which began in July 2024. The investigation covered a 100-kilometer stretch of southern Ukraine along the right bank of the Dnipro River surrounding the city of Kherson.

The report detailed how civilians were targeted "under various circumstances, primarily outdoors — both on foot and traveling in any type of vehicle."

It noted that in several instances, ambulances were targeted, likely to prevent the delivery of emergency medical care to victims.
