Odesa truck yard struck by Russia, two people killed

Russian invaders attacked Odesa Oblast with drones, killing two and injuring two, Odesa governor Oleh Kiper said on Nov. 2.

One of the victims was hospitalized. The man suffered thermal burns from the flames and is in stable condition, Kiper said.

Despite active air defenses, Oblast sustained damage to civilian infrastructure. Five trucks caught fire in the Russian strike, but firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze.

The State Emergency Service (DSNS) said the fires broke out at a truck parking lot and were promptly put out by responders.

In the early hours of Oct. 31, the Russian military attacked energy infrastructure in Odesa Oblast with strike drones. One industrial facility was hit, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished by emergency crews.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russian forces launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 145 strike drones, including Shahed and Gerber models, along with other unmanned aerial vehicles. Air defenses intercepted the missile and 107 drones.
