According to the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Russian forces attacked a minibus with a drone in Kherson's Dniprovskyi district at about 11:50 a.m.
Shanko said a 15-year-old boy suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his thigh, shoulder and face. He was hospitalized in moderate condition.
Four other passengers sustained blast injuries, shrapnel wounds and concussions. According to Shanko, they are receiving the necessary medical treatment.
The Kherson District Prosecutor's Office has opened a pretrial investigation into a suspected war crime under Article 438, Part 1 of Ukraine's Criminal Code.

On Aug. 4, police released video showing Russian forces using an FPV drone to hunt a civilian man selling goods at a market in Kherson. The drone followed him before exploding nearby.
The 52-year-old resident of Mykolaiv Oblast survived but sustained blast injuries, shrapnel wounds and a concussion.
Last year, U.N. investigators accused Russia of committing crimes against humanity. The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine concluded that Russia was responsible for such crimes in Kherson Oblast of southern Ukraine. The findings were published in a report based on a comprehensive investigation into a 10-month campaign of Russian drone strikes against civilians, beginning in July 2024. The investigation covered more than 100 kilometers (62 miles) of southern Ukraine along the right bank of the Dnipro River around the city of Kherson.
The report described in detail how civilians were targeted "in a variety of circumstances, primarily outdoors," including pedestrians and people traveling in different types of vehicles. It also said ambulances were struck in some cases, apparently to obstruct emergency medical assistance for the wounded.
