The Potemkin Palace is one of the oldest buildings in Dnipro. Its construction took place between 1786 and 1790.

"How much of a bastard (stupid one, too) do you have to be to target the very center of the city, dense residential areas, and, in the process, destroy the historic building of the Palace of Grand Prince Potemkin, which he built for Catherine II?" he wrote.
Catherine II, most commonly known as Catherine the Great, was the reigning Empress of Russia from 1762 to 1796.
He added that the building will be restored. Now, the building houses the Palace of Students and Youth.
"But we’ll rename it in honor of Hetman Sahaidachny. The one who burned Moscow," he added.
