Russian drones shatter homes, shops in Odesa

Russian forces carried out another overnight drone attack on densely populated neighborhoods of the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa, regional Governor Oleh Kipper reported early on Jan. 19, sharing photos of the aftermath on Telegram.

The attack damaged residential, energy, and gas infrastructure.

One of the drones hit a multistory apartment building. Two apartments, the building's facade, windows, and cars were damaged.

The blast wave shattered windows in shops and at a car dealership. Emergency efforts to mitigate the consequences of the attack are ongoing.

There have been no casualties.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Air Force warned of Russian drones approaching Odesa and the nearby port city of Chornomorsk from the Black Sea. Shortly after, residents reported a series of loud explosions.
