Russian drones strike Kyiv-Sumy passenger train twice after passengers evacuated

The strikes occurred as the train was approaching the city of Sumy.
“The train had been stopped in advance at a station by Ukrzaliznytsia’s monitoring team, and the passengers and locomotive crew were evacuated,” Pertsovskyi wrote. “Everyone was saved — there were no casualties.”
Buses were provided to take passengers to their destinations.
The attack came after Russia launched a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine using dozens of missiles and 166 drones of various types.
Ukraine’s Air Force said the main targets of the attack were Odesa and Kyiv oblasts.
Preliminary figures showed Ukrainian air defenses neutralized two ballistic missiles from among Iskander-M, KN-23, S-400 and Oniks types; 31 Kh-101 and Iskander-K cruise missiles; and 142 drones of various types.
Russian forces also attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles, causing damage in at least five districts of the capital.
Falling debris and fires were reported in the Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi, Holosiivskyi, Dniprovskyi and Podilskyi districts.
Rescuers evacuated people from damaged apartment buildings and extinguished fires in garages, a warehouse and a business center.
At least two people were killed and 10 others injured in the attack, according to preliminary reports.
