The drone strike caused the truck to flip over and catch fire.
Witnesses posted footage of the burning vehicle online as plumes of smoke were visible for miles around.
Nothing remained of the truck after rescuers put out the fire.
Russian forces then launched a double-tap FPV-drone strike on the rescuers working at the scene, setting fire to a patrol car. A second car was evacuated in time. There were no police casualties. Suspilne reported that the driver’s body still hasn’t been recovered due to the threat of repeated strikes.
Kharkiv Regional Infrastructure Recovery and Development Service has closed traffic on the M-03 highway between Ecopark and the Liptsivskyi intersection due to the threat of Russian drone activity. Drivers are being advised to find alternate routes. Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi and Saltovsky districts remain accessible via city streets.
