No employees were injured, but the warehouse was damaged in the attacks, the WFP said.
The incident marked the seventh time in the past three months that clearly marked WFP facilities in Ukraine had been damaged in drone strikes. The affected sites included the Dnipro warehouse and one of the organization’s vehicles.
“This is not an isolated incident. We are seeing an alarming rise in attacks on humanitarian facilities and operations across the country,” WFP Representative and Country Director in Ukraine Richard Ragan said.
“Over the past two years, WFP has recorded more than 90 incidents affecting our warehouses, vehicles, aid distribution points and the property of national humanitarian partners across Ukraine,” he added.
International humanitarian law prohibits attacks on civilian and humanitarian infrastructure, the WFP said. Such incidents directly threaten the delivery of lifesaving assistance to civilians affected by the war, the organization added.
Russian forces struck Dnipro on July 16, damaging warehouses belonging to a logistics company, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration head Oleksandr Hanzha said.
