Air Force: Ukraine downs most Russian drones in overnight attack

Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 86 strike drones, including Shahed- and Gerbera-type UAVs and other unmanned aircraft, launched from Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk Oblast and Chauda in occupied Crimea.

The air assault was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare teams, drone units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, the Air Force said.

According to preliminary data, air defenses shot down or suppressed 58 drones over northern, southern, and eastern regions of Ukraine.

The Air Force reported direct hits by 26 strike drones at 12 locations, as well as falling debris at one site.

Russian forces also launched another drone attack on Odesa overnight. The strike damaged critical infrastructure, leaving part of the city temporarily without electricity.
