Russian forces launch Kh-59 missile, 120+ drones in overnight attack against Ukraine

As of 08:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses shot down or neutralized 96 enemy UAVs in the north, south, and east, while the guided Kh-59 cruise missile did not reach its target.
UAVs made impact at 11 locations, with debris from shot-down drones falling in eight locations.
The Air Force warned that the Russian attack is still ongoing, with enemy UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace.
An air raid alert sounded in Kyiv on the morning of August 31 amid the threat of incoming jet-powered Shahed drones, triggering explosions overnight across the capital.
The alert marked the eighth time sirens had wailed in Kyiv over a 24-hour period. Russian forces have subjected the capital to a relentless aerial campaign, keeping the city under near-continuous alerts since August 27.
