Russian forces are delaying payments to railway workers, leading to increasing wage arrears, the National Resistance Center (NRC) reported on Nov. 11.

The Russian troops, having saized Ukrainian rail infrastructure, have not paid salaries to railway staff who remained in these regions for several months, NRC wrote.

This delay resulted in personnel shortages for the occupation railway operator.

Despite Russian propaganda claims about the restoration of passenger rail services, the railway system is used exclusively for military purposes. The invaders have also repurposed rail depots into repair bases for military equipment.
