Russian forces used Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas drones, as well as jet-powered drones, in an air assault on Ukraine that began around 7:00 p.m. on Jan. 14.
Launches were carried out from Russia’s Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Millerovo, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea and Donetsk Oblast.
Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups repelled the air assault.
Twenty-one drones targeted thirteen sites across Ukraine. Damage from drone debris was reported at three other sites.
Earlier, local authorities reported that a Russian drone had hit a playground near the Stepan Bandera monument in Lviv. In Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district, debris from a drone struck a 15-story residential building.
