Russian mass attack kills two in Kyiv Oblast, injures nine

Two people were killed in Kyiv Oblast during Russia’s massive overnight attack, the regional military administration reported.

Russian forces killed two men in the Bucha and Obukhiv districts, officials said.

The number of injured has risen to nine, including a girl under the age of 1, the regional administration said.

The Fastiv district reported the highest number of casualties, with five people injured. Two women were hospitalized in local hospitals, while others received medical assistance at the scene.

Residential buildings, stores, businesses, educational institutions and medical facilities were damaged across the region.

In the Bila Tserkva district, a garage cooperative and business facilities were damaged. The type of weapon used in the attack is still being identified, the Kyiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office said. Earlier, monitoring channels reported that Russia had attacked Bila Tserkva with an Oreshnik missile without a warhead.

Eleven private homes were damaged in the Brovary district. In the Vyshhorod district, an apartment building, a private home and a car were damaged.

In the Fastiv district, Russian forces damaged a medical outpatient clinic, nine private homes, an apartment building and two cars.

In the Bucha district, a business, warehouses, an educational institution, a store, three apartment buildings, eight private homes and two cars were damaged.

Three private homes were damaged in the Obukhiv district. In the Boryspil district, two private homes, outbuildings and a car were damaged.

Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine overnight on May 24 using drones and various types of missiles. Kyiv came under heavy attack, while explosions were also reported in Sumy, Cherkasy, Odesa Oblast, Kyiv Oblast and Kirovohrad Oblast.

Fires broke out and civilian infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged in all districts of Kyiv. At least two people were killed and dozens were injured.
