The attack, which targeted the town’s airfield and the Flight Academy of the National Aviation University, wounded 12 servicemen and 13 civilians. According to Raikovych, Russian missiles hit aircraft hangars. The type of missile the Russians used is still being established.
“There were two hits on the hangars of the Flight Academy of the National Aviation University,” said Raikovych. “... Two civilian aircraft and one An-26 aircraft were destroyed.”
Earlier, Raikovych reported there had been a missile attack on Kropyvnytskyi and asked residents to stay in shelters.
Russia launched a massive missile attack on the northern regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts, early on July 28. Several missiles hit the suburbs of Kyiv, including a military unit in the Vyshgorodskiy District. As a result of attacks on the Kyiv Oblast, 15 people were injured, with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine later confirming the casualty figures.
Elsewhere, a Russian attack on Mykolaiv on July 28 almost completely destroyed a school building, a yacht club, and the warehouse of an agro-industrial facility, as well as damaging apartment buildings.
