Russian rear troops sent to assaults as North Koreans take their posts – Coordination HQ

I Want to Live is a state project under Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, supported by the Ministry of Defense and the Military Intelligence.

“Because of the arrival of North Korean soldiers, Russian rear-unit personnel are being sent to assault,” the project wrote, commenting on a video allegedly posted by the wife of sapper Daniyal Ilyasov from the 89th Guards Engineer Regiment (military unit 75406).

The woman complains in the published video.

“I’m the wife of a combatant. My husband served as a sapper, but now he and his comrades have been transferred to other units — to assault," she said.

"They were moved because soldiers from North Korea were brought in to take their places.
All our sappers have been reassigned to different units as storm troopers, to the very frontline. They’re being sent as ‘meat.’ Why is this happening? Our men, fathers, sons — they’re people too. Why send them to be practically wiped out?”

The Coordination HQ said that Ilyasov became a grenadier in the 163rd Tank Regiment (military unit 84839) and, during one of the assaults, lost several fingers on his hand.

“After he and his comrades tried to fall back to receive medical aid, the commander forced them forward again, threatening to ‘wipe them out.’ Ilyasov did not return from the assault and is now listed as missing,” the HQ reported.

His wife is now appealing for the authorities to investigate the situation.

On Aug. 22, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un awarded medals to soldiers who had fought alongside Russia in its war against Ukraine.

On Sept. 2, South Korean lawmakers, citing intelligence reports, stated that about 2,000 North Korean troops deployed to Russia for combat operations in Ukraine had been killed.

North Korea itself reported losing about 350 soldiers during the first and second phases of deployment to Russia.

Ukrainian intelligence indicates that North Korean troops remain on Russian territory, particularly in Kursk Oblast, where their main tasks involve fortifying defensive positions and strengthening the border.
