Russian strike destroyed Kyiv office of Ukrainian drone maker Skyeton

Skyeton said it had anticipated the risk of strikes in advance and had relocated production facilities to different oblasts of Ukraine and abroad.

“We understood that sooner or later Skyeton would become a target for the Russians, so we prepared for this and relocated production facilities to different parts of our country and abroad,” the company said in a statement.

The company pledged to continue operations and supply drone technologies to Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Skyeton is a Ukrainian manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems founded in 2006 that specializes in reconnaissance drones. The company supplies UAVs to Ukraine’s Defense Forces and is expanding production abroad.

In July 2025, Skyeton partnered with British defense company Prevail Partners to establish a joint venture in the United Kingdom.

Massive missile attack on Kyiv and other oblasts on May 14

Russia launched a massive overnight and morning attack on May 14 using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and Shahed drones against Kyiv. At least five people were killed and more than 40 injured. In Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, an apartment building entrance collapsed, leaving people trapped under the rubble. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said at least 20 people were missing.

In Kyiv Oblast, seven people were injured, including a 3-year-old child. Apartment buildings, private homes and businesses were damaged across six districts.

Russian strikes also targeted Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk and Odesa Oblast.

Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched 56 ballistic, aeroballistic and cruise missiles along with 675 drones overnight, with Kyiv identified as the primary target. Ukrainian air defenses said they neutralized 652 drones and 41 missiles.

A day earlier, on May 13, Russia launched a massive drone attack involving 753 drones, mainly targeting western oblasts of Ukraine.
