Russian attack on Odesa kills three amid week of deadly strikes

Russian forces launched another attack on Odesa during the day on July 20, striking infrastructure and killing three people, Odesa City Military Administration head Serhii Lysak said.

“Unfortunately, three people are now known to have been killed in the enemy attack on the city,” Lysak said. “My condolences to their families and loved ones. Three other people were also injured and are receiving all necessary assistance. The search-and-rescue operation is continuing, and the information is being updated.”

Russia intensified its attacks on Odesa and the surrounding region in July, subjecting the area to repeated combined strikes, Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper previously said.

Russian attacks across Odesa Oblast killed 18 people and injured 69 others, including six children, over the past week.

Russia struck an amusement park in Odesa Oblast on the evening of July 18, killing a 16-year-old boy and injuring 12 people, including a 2-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl.

Russian forces struck a foreign vessel carrying grain near Odesa on July 19, killing six people. Four other crew members remain missing.

Another Russian missile strike hit infrastructure in Odesa on the morning of July 20, Lysak said.
