Russian Shahed drones struck the Tabaky border crossing with Moldova overnight on August 21, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said in a statement.

The attack came amid yet another Russian aerial barrage on the Izmail and Bolhrad districts of Odesa Oblast.

The strike targeted infrastructure at the Tabaky border crossing with Moldova, damaging the international checkpoint’s facilities and sparking fires, which have since been contained.

Authorities temporarily closed the crossing to all traffic and notified Moldovan officials of the situation, according to the State Border Guard Service.

Vehicles are being rerouted to nearby border crossings.

Officials advised travelers to account for the closure when planning their trips.

Russian drones struck a checkpoint on the Moldovan border in Odesa Oblast during a major overnight aerial bombardment on August 20.

During the overnight attack, a Shahed-136 drone briefly crossed into Moldovan airspace before returning to Ukraine, according to the Moldovan Ministry of Defense.
