Authorities are urging residents of Pokrovsk and nearby areas to evacuate as Russian forces advance to within 10.5 kilometers of the city, according to Volodymyr Zamotaev, head of the Pokrovsk district military administration. Zamotaev described the situation as “threatening,” noting that the city is large by Donetsk Oblast standards.
Since the full-scale invasion began, 2,039 civilians have been injured and 681 killed, including 17 children who died and 102 who were injured. Forced evacuations are underway, with 2,684 children evacuated in the past two weeks. Since August 7, about 15,000 people, including 2,747 children, have been moved from Kurakhivska, Novohrodivska, Selidivska communities, and Myrnohrad.
Currently, 1,672 children remain in the Pokrovsky district, with the largest group in Kurakhiv community, totaling 418. Evacuated residents are being relocated to safe areas and then to Dnipro.
Yuriy Tretyak, acting head of the Myrnohrad city military administration, reported that the Russian army is six kilometers from Myrnohrad, where 20,000 people live, including 1,000 children. Evacuations are ongoing but slower than needed, with some residents refusing to leave.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that on August 15, Ukrainian forces repelled 58 Russian assaults in the Pokrovsky direction, particularly around Vozdvizhenka and Hrodivka, where Russian forces have used assault and bombing aircraft.
On August 13, DeepState reported Russian advances and captures in Donetsk Oblast, including Lysichne, Ivanivka, and Svyridonivka, and continued movement near Hrodivka and Serhiyivka.
