Russian troops shell Kharkiv, killing at least five

Invading Russian forces shelled the center of Kharkiv on Aug. 30, killing five people and injuring another seven, Kharkiv Oblast governor Oleh Synehubov reported in his Telegram channel.

"As a result of the shelling of the central part of Kharkiv, at least 5 people died and 7 more were injured. The information is being clarified," he wrote.

The head of the region urged people to stay in shelters.

Russians have been shelling Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city prior to the start of the full-scale war, almost non-stop since February. Missiles are often launched from the nearby Russian city of Belgorod.
