Fires spotted at key Russian shipbuilding facility in Crimea following drone attack

Two fire hotspots are visible in the waters near the enterprise, which may indicate either damage to vessels or a shift in thermal signatures.

The facility in question is the Zaliv shipyard, where the construction of two Project 23900 universal amphibious assault ships — the Ivan Rogov and the Mitrofan Moskalenko — has been underway since 2020.

Overnight on June 26, a drone attack was reported in Kerch, with explosions near the ferry crossing and the activation of Russian air defenses. Satellites later recorded fires at the former Bagerove airfield, where Pantsir-S1 air defense systems are deployed.

On June 25, AFU Unmanned Systems Forces reported striking 38 targets in temporarily occupied Crimea. Among them were air defense systems, the Tavriisk thermal power plant in Simferopol, an oil depot in Dzhankoi, and gas compressor stations in Zhuravlivka and Kliuchi. Sevastopol and Simferopol electrical substations were also hit.
