Ukrainian drones strike chemical plant and power hub in occupied Crimea

The military published the footage of the operation.

The strike targeted the Brom chemical enterprise, which operates in support of Russia’s defense-industrial complex. The plant is one of Crimea’s largest industrial facilities and the only producer of bromine-based compounds in Eastern Europe.

Overnight on Nov. 23, Ukrainian unmanned systems also attacked the Krasnoperekopsk 220-kV transmission substation. According to Brovdi, this energy node is one of the key hubs within the temporarily occupied peninsula’s power grid.

The commander noted that the attacks were carried out by the 1st Separate SBS Center, transformed from the former 14th Regiment. He described the operation as a “polite visit” and said multiple energy facilities were hit.

On Nov. 13, Ukrainian forces also struck a Russian Orion drone base in Crimea. 

On Sept. 13, 2025, the same unit shot down one of the Orion strike drones mid-air. Brovdi said the destruction of the storage site followed operations against Russian attack-drone infrastructure.

In early November, he said that Russia should prepare for potential large-scale power outages.
