Six confirmed dead in Russian attack on civilian plant in Kharkiv, six-day rescue operation completed

On the evening of June 12, emergency workers discovered the sixth victim under the rubble. In total, the bodies of three men and three women were retrieved.

The search operation lasted six days, involving rescue workers, canine search teams, heavy equipment, and Kharkiv municipal services.

SES reminded that the Russian strike targeted a civilian facility on June 7, destroying several industrial buildings, collapsing structural elements, and causing massive fires.

Rescuers managed to save two people alive from the rubble.

The strike was part of the largest Russian attack on Kharkiv since the start of the full-scale war. During the night of June 7, Russian forces launched 53 Shahed drones, four guided bombs, and one missile against the city.

More than 50 explosions were reported. 22 civilians were injured in the assault, including two children, one just 1.5 months old, and another aged 14.

One of the drones struck a nine-story residential building in Kharkiv’s Osnovianskyi district, igniting a fire on the upper floors.

Multiple drones also hit an enterprise in the city’s Kyivskyi district, sparking a massive fire that covered 10,000 square meters. Another drone struck a private residential area.
