An explosion caused by a drone attack shook Moscow five days before the planned May 9 parade, which Russian authorities traditionally turn into a propaganda show, local public channels reported overnight on May 4.

The attack occurred amid Moscow's preparations for the May 9 parade.

An unknown UAV hit a high-rise building in the area of Mosfilmovskaya Street, according to reports from local public channels. Residents of the Moscow suburbs earlier filmed the drone flying overhead.

The channel also published a map showing the crash site of the UAV, the Kremlin, and the State Research and Production Space Center in Moscow, one of the leading enterprises of the Russian rocket and space industry.
