Ukraine’s Defense Forces have eliminated more than 300,000 Russian troops in 2025, Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on Sept. 16.

“Ukraine’s Defense Forces are destroying the enemy: since the start of the year, more than 305k invaders (305,630) have been neutralized,” he wrote.

In addition, Syrskyi said Ukrainian troops have inflicted significant losses on Russian equipment.

“Nearly 30,000 enemy vehicles have been destroyed, which severely undermines Russia’s ability to supply and maneuver its forces,” the general noted.

Syrskyi also released a video from combat operations showing the Defense Forces eliminating Russian personnel and equipment.

On Aug. 1, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Russia had lost about 20,000 soldiers on the battlefield over the previous month, and 112,500 troops since the start of 2025. Earlier, Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledged that Russian losses at the front far exceed Ukrainian ones.

On Aug. 5, UK intelligence estimated that Russia likely lost 260,000 troops in 2025. Average daily Russian losses in July 2025 were about 1,072 soldiers.

On Aug. 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia’s total manpower losses were three times higher than those of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

On Aug. 31, Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi stated that since the start of 2025, Russian forces had lost over 290,000 killed and severely wounded across the front line.

General Staff data indicated that as of Sept. 17, Russia’s overall losses in the war against Ukraine have reached about 1,097,450 personnel.
