Iran attempted to assassinate U.S. President Donald Trump twice and still wants to do so, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an interview with NewsMax on March 31.

He was asked to recall what Iran was like before the start of hostilities during the interview.

"Look, if you remember what was happening before the war, Iran was the main bully in the Middle East and the world," he highlighted.

"It was the main sponsor of state terrorism on many continents, including the Western Hemisphere, particularly, by the way, along with Venezuela and others."

Iranians have killed and wounded more Americans than any other force in recent decades, Netanyahu claimed. Specifically, Iran tried to eliminate Trump.

"Thousands and thousands were killed and maimed in Afghanistan by Iranian IEDs. They bombed your embassies. They tried to kill President Trump twice. They are still trying to kill him. And most importantly — they chant 'death to America,'" he concluded.

U.S. President Donald Trump told his aides that he is ready to end the war against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz is never fully reopened, The Wall Street Journal reported on March 31.

The United States is not changing the earlier established timeframes for the operation against Iran and continues to act within the announced schedule, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated the day before.
