Trump claims significant fall in Russian oil exports, mentions mass military casualties

“I can say that [oil] exports from Russia have truly dropped significantly," Trump said.

"We just want this war to end. So many people are dying—many Russian soldiers are dying. So we believe that at some point they will wise up and stop this.”

He also voiced confidence that there is significant progress toward ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.

On Oct. 21, Reuters, citing its own sources, reported that a summit between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump will not happen in the near future, as the Kremlin refused to agree to an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine.

On Nov. 3, Trump said he could not apply the same methods to Putin that had worked in resolving other conflicts because Russia is not a major U.S. business partner.

On Nov. 5, he said that two weeks earlier the Russian dictator asked him to help settle the war in Ukraine — a war Putin himself launched.
