MQ-9 Reaper is a remotely piloted aircraft used for reconnaissance and surveillance that can also carry out precision strikes. The network said the Reaper is easier to shoot down because it was designed for counterterrorism operations in uncontested airspace, rather than for use against countries that possess modern missile systems.
Depending on the model, a single Reaper can cost more than $30 million, CBS said.
