While Kyiv stands ready to continue trilateral Ukraine–U.S.–Russia
peace talks, the next round remains in limbo because Moscow and Washington
cannot agree on its location, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on March
13.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to France, the president said the negotiations were postponed for a second time and will not take place next week.
"There’s this whole [soap opera] with these negotiations because of the war in the Middle East,” said Zelenskyy.
“The Americans said they were ready to meet, but only in America, because the war and the security situation prevent them from leaving the United States now.”
He said Ukraine confirmed its delegation was ready to fly to Miami or Washington. Russia’s delegation refused to go to the United States and proposed either Turkey or Switzerland; the White House rejected that proposal.
On March 10, Zelenskyy said the United States postponed
the trilateral meeting by a week.
