Ukrainian General Staff confirms strikes on Primorsk oil port and Bashkortostan refinery - video

A tank farm and oil loading infrastructure were preliminarily hit in Primorsk. A large-scale fire broke out on the port's territory.

NV sources clarified that the attack on Primorsk, which is Russia's largest oil port on the Baltic Sea, was carried out by drones from the Security Service of Ukraine's (SBU) Alpha Special Operations Center in cooperation with other Defense Forces units.

About 60 million tons of oil pass through this port annually, with a significant portion of the supplies handled by the Russian shadow fleet, General Staff added. The aggressor country directs the funds from the sale of this oil to continue its war against Ukraine.

Defense Forces also struck the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery in the city of Ufa, causing a fire on its premises. This enterprise has a refining capacity of 6 to 8 million tons per year and supplies the Russian occupation army. The plant is located 1,400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Reports of a massive fire at the Russian port of Primorsk appeared online on the morning of Mar. 23. Local authorities claimed an attack by dozens of UAVs and the ignition of storage tanks.

The Defense Ministry of the aggressor country reported "shooting down" about 250 drones overnight over Russian regions.
