Partial reopening of Ukraine's airspace remains impossible due to security risks — PM Denys Shmyhal

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said reopening airspace, even partially, is currently impossible due to security concerns, speaking at the International Transport Forum, according to Ukrinform on Nov. 30.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasized the need to develop alternative transport routes for goods and passengers via road and rail due to damaged aviation infrastructure, including at least 15 civilian airports and nearly 60 Russian attacks on port facilities in the past three months.
Despite this, he highlighted Ukraine's ability to maintain stable operations in the sea corridor, reinforcing its role as a global food security guarantor.
Meanwhile, Marsh McLennan's Crispin Ellison suggested Lviv airport could reopen next year, while Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba noted Ukraine's aviation readiness but stressed passenger safety as critical.
