Russian forces launched Shahed drones and unidentified UAVs at Ukraine, with air defenses downing 32, the Air Force said on Telegram on Dec. 1.

By 9 a.m., Ukraine's Defense Forces confirmed downing 32 Russian drones, with 45 others likely lost due to electronic warfare countermeasures and one still in the air.

Air defense systems engaged in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, and Poltava oblasts, successfully repelling the attack with anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups.

Overnight on Dec. 1, Russian troops launched drone attacks on Kyiv, but Ukrainian forces neutralized about a dozen UAVs, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.

A broader air alert had been issued earlier due to the threat of UAV strikes.

The night before, on Nov. 30, Russia also targeted Ukraine with 10 Shahed-131/136 drones, of which air defenses shot down eight.
