Ukraine downs 33 missiles and 274 drones in mass Russian attack

According to the morning report, Russian forces launched a combined strike on critical infrastructure using attack drones as well as air- and ground-launched missiles. Radar units detected a total of 345 aerial threats.

The weapons included four Zircon anti-ship missiles, 22 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles, two Iskander-K cruise missiles, four Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles, and 297 attack drones — including about 200 Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas and other UAVs.

The main areas targeted were Kyiv, Odesa, Kirovohrad and Poltava oblasts, the Air Force said.

As of 10 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had intercepted or suppressed 307 targets — 33 missiles and 274 drones. Officials reported that 14 missiles and 23 attack drones struck 14 locations. Debris from downed drones fell in five additional areas.

Information on several missiles is still being specified, the Air Force said, adding that the attack was ongoing and enemy drones remained in Ukrainian airspace.

Russia targeted Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava and Sumy oblasts.

In Kyiv Oblast’s Fastiv district, a 49-year-old man died from injuries sustained in the attack, regional authorities said. As of 10:08 a.m., at least 15 people were reported injured, including four children.
