Drone attack damages key Rosneft-owned oil processing plants in Ufa - video

The attack damaged the Bashneft-Uralneftekhim and likely the Bashneft-UNPZ oil refineries, both owned by the Bashneft oil company, Russian Telegram channel Astra reported.

Radiy Khabirov, head of Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, confirmed the drone attack. He claimed it was “repelled” but that “UAV debris fell in the industrial zone,” adding that no one was injured and that the plants were supposedly operating normally.

Astra noted that Bashneft is part of Rosneft and operates three refineries located right next to each other: Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim, Bashneft-Novoil, and Bashneft-UNPZ.

The Exilenova+ Telegram channel reported two strikes in Ufa, publishing photos and videos of the aftermath. This channel also posted a video of the second strike.

Three Bashneft refineries are located in the northern part of Ufa: Bashneft-Novoil, Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim, and Bashneft-UNPZ. According to Exilenova+, two of them were hit.

On the morning of April 2, drones attacked the Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Ufa, sparking a large fire. One of the drones also hit a multi-story residential building.

On April 3, Radio Liberty's Russian language service, citing a satellite image, reported that the drone strike on the Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Ufa damaged the CDU-5 primary oil refining unit.

Reuters, citing three industry sources, reported that the CDU-5 unit, which caught fire, accounts for about 28% of the refinery's total capacity.
