Ukraine is ready for any format of a ceasefire with Russia, particularly during Easter, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a meeting with journalists, NV reported on March 30.

"We are ready to talk, you remember, about any ceasefire," he said.

"A complete ceasefire. An energy ceasefire. A ceasefire — food security and energy, meaning both sea and sky. Completely — so that neither missiles nor drones fly. No hitting infrastructure. We proposed all of this. And we are open. If the 'Russians' are ready — please, we are ready. Let them propose it for any time — we are ready to resolve this issue."

Ukraine will not attack in response if Russia does not strike Ukrainian energy facilities, the president highlighted.

The U.S. delegation proposed that the Russian side repeat the "energy truce" in Ukraine during trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi, UAE, held on Feb. 4-5, Zelenskyy said on Feb. 7.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ordered a halt to all combat operations from 6 p.m. on April 19 to midnight on April 21 last year.

Zelenskyy reacted to Putin's statement about the Easter truce by noting that Russian strike drones were recorded over Ukrainian territory from 5:15 p.m., reflecting the Russian dictator's true attitude toward Easter and people's lives. Zelenskyy called Putin's words "another attempt to play with people's lives" and assured that Ukrainian air defense and aviation already began working to defend against the Russian attack.

Zelenskyy later stated that he agreed to a ceasefire if "complete silence truly prevails," adding that Ukraine will act symmetrically. He also proposed extending the ceasefire after the Easter period ended.

The Russian army carried out 387 shelling attacks and 19 assault operations between 6: p.m. on April 19 and midnight on April 20, Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the morning of April 20, 2025.

The enemy also used drones 290 times. As of 6 a.m. on April 20, 59 Russian shelling attacks and five assault operations by Russian units already occurred across various frontline directions.
