Ukraine rejects peace talks without its involvement - Foreign Ministry

Tykhyi was responding to an article published by Foreign Policy, which suggested that Ukraine should be excluded from initial negotiations about ending the war.

"The initial stages of the negotiations, however, should be between the United States and Russia. It goes without saying that certain aspects of an eventual agreement will require Ukraine’s full assent, and that without this assent a settlement isn’t possible. ," the article stated.

The authors noted that U.S. negotiators would need to fully understand and respect Kyiv's stance on Ukraine's vital national interests.

In his response, Tykhyi emphasized on X that Ukraine would not accept any plans for resolving the war if developed without its participation.

"Complete nonsense. Ukraine will not accept initiatives developed without its involvement. Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine," Tykhyi wrote.

Previously, the White House has maintained that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy alone should decide when and under what conditions to begin negotiations with Russia.
