Breaking down the tax income from gambling:

"Fiscal cash register revenue in May totaled approximately $121.68 million — up 1.7% from December 2024," Hetmantsev said.
“Following the introduction of mandatory fiscalization in December, both the number of registered cash registers and revenue volumes in the sector have surged. The result is clear: market legalization delivers — more transparency, more taxes, more funding for the state.”
On April 24, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) passed draft bill No. 9256-d in its first reading, aiming to strengthen oversight of the gambling sector and restructure the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL).
In December 2024, the Rada approved a bill to tighten control over the gambling market.
On Jan. 6, 2025, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Law No. 4116-IX targeting gambling addiction and improving state regulation of gambling and lotteries. It includes:

On Feb. 14, the Cabinet of Ministers transferred policy functions for the gambling and lottery sectors from KRAIL to the Ministry of Digital Policy.
On March 21, the government created a new state agency, PlayCity.
On April 8, the Cabinet appointed Hennadii Novikov as its head.
