According to them, the meeting focused on the procedure for filling vacancies in the executive branch — at the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Justice, and the State Property Fund, said Yevheniia Kravchuk, deputy head of the SN party.
“We approved the selection format," she explained.
"First, the relevant committees draw up a shortlist of candidates or recommend a main candidate. The Legal Policy Committee will handle the Justice Ministry, the Energy Committee — the Energy Ministry, and the Economy Ministry will be responsible for the vacant post of head of the State Property Fund. Then the party approves it, with the consent of the Prime Minister and the President.”
NV’s sources highlighted that the leading candidate for Justice minister is Denys Maslov - a Servant of the People MP and chair of the parliamentary Legal Policy Committee. His fellow faction member, Mykyta Poturayev, chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy, told NV the likelihood of Maslov’s appointment is “over 90%.”
“The approval procedure in the committees still has to take place," he said.
"And if we’re talking about a committee chair, then the committee will have to decide who will lead it instead. However, so far we haven’t discussed specific names in the faction. Nothing has been officially approved and no submissions have been made.”
At the same time, neither faction MPs nor the prime minister have put forward clear candidates for the post of Energy Minister. Earlier, Servant of the People MP Andrii Herus, chair of the Energy and Utilities Committee, had been considered for the job. But according to Poturayev, he categorically refused the position. Herus’s deputy on the committee — another Servant MP, Andrii Zhupanin — also does not want the ministerial seat.
There is no ready-made solution for the head of the State Property Fund either. MPs only recalled at the faction meeting how they once proposed their fellow party member Dmytro Natalukha, chair of the Economic Development Committee, for this post.
“As far as I know, he is not opposed in principle,” Poturayev said. But he added that this story about collecting signatures to nominate Natalukha was remembered in a joking tone: that was back when “we could still gather 200 signatures.”
Overall, in the opinion of the MPs interviewed by NV, no personnel changes should be expected this week.
