Syrskyi: False frontline reports put Ukrainian troops at risk

Speaking to RBC-Ukraine, Syrskyi explained that inaccurate information from one sector poses risks for troops fighting or holding positions nearby.

To counter this, Ukrainian commanders rely on multiple intelligence sources. Syrskyi cited updates from DeepState, an open-source monitoring platform, as one example.

“I don’t want to say this is the ‘final authority’ for realistic information, because it also makes mistakes,” Syrskyi said. “But it is a source that often helps provide data on potential threats to positions.”

The general noted that Ukraine also integrates intelligence from foreign partners and various reconnaissance channels. He stressed the crucial role of Ukraine’s Drone Forces, which deliver significant battlefield data.

According to Syrskyi, drones allow commanders to monitor conditions along the entire frontline and track troop presence in positions. Using diverse sources, he said, ensures the most objective battlefield picture possible.
