“It is announced that a bus service from the bus station in the city of Kherson to Odesa is being launched,” he said.
According to Khlan, Kherson is gradually coming back to life after the occupation: medical institutions, shops, and communal services are resuming work.
He added the regional center would be reconnected to the power grid in a week, followed by the restoration of water and heat supply.
The official said there are about 80,000 residents left in Kherson.
“The city had a population of 320,000 people before the war, and now, according to various estimates, it’s about 80,000 people,” he said.
Meanwhile, some residents are leaving the city due to difficult living conditions. However there are also people who are returning to Kherson, Khlan added.
