Air Defense Forces intercept 61 of 70 drones and one of four missiles in Russian night attack

The Russian forces launched an attack with four missiles and 70 Shahed drones - Ukraine's air defense successfully downed 61 drones and one Kh-59 missile, the Air Force reported on Telegram on Sept. 20.

The report indicates that the attacks targeted Donetsk Oblast with three unidentified missiles and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with one Kh-59 missile. The drones were launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk, and Yeysk.

The air defense operated in 13 Ukrainian oblasts, including Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Kherson.

Air raid alerts were issued nation-wide, with explosions recorded in the country's West - Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, and Khmelnytskyi. In Lviv Oblast, a drone crash caused a fire, but no injuries were reported.

Additionally, a Russian drone was detected flying near the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant in the night attack, local authorities reported.
