Ukrainian Air Force reports downing three Russian Shahed attack drones overnight

The Russian military launched five Shahed-136/131 attack drones at Ukraine from the southeast overnight on Aug. 12, with three of them being shot down in Zaporizhzhya Oblast, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on its channel on the Telegram messenger app.

The enemy launched 67 strikes on 28 settlements in Zaporizhzhya Oblast in the past day alone, the regional governor Yuriy Malashko said on Telegram.

A total of 54 artillery strikes were reported in the following settlements: Hulyaipole, Novodarivka, Novoandriivka, Zaliznychne, Olhivske, Charivne, Malynivka, Poltavka, Levadne, Shcherbaky, Temyrivka, Kamyanske, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Pyatykhatky, Plavni, Pavlivka, and Chervonodniprovka.

Russian forces also carried out air strikes and shelling on Orikhiv, Omelnyk, and Mala Tokmachka.

Four missiles strikes was conducted against Komyshuvakha, while drones were launched against Zaporizhzhya itself, Hulyaipillya, and Chervone.

No casualties were reported in the attacks.

Russia struck a residential district of Zaporizhzhya with a Kh-35 missile on Aug. 9.

Three people were killed and another eight suffered injuries in the attack, which stuck a children playground and ruined a church. A blast wave shattered windows in multi-story buildings and stores nearby, the General Prosecutor's Office reported.
