"Our forces successfully counterattacked and cleared the enemy from the villages of Mykhailivka, Zelenyi Hai, and Volodymyrivka in Donetsk Oblast," Syrskyi stated.
While working on the Pokrovsk front, he met with defenders holding the line in Pokrovsk, and listened to reports from corps and brigade commanders on the operational situation.
"The situation is indeed challenging; the enemy has concentrated its main efforts on this front line. But we must hold the line. Support for organizing combat operations will be provided," Syrskyi added.
Issues regarding additional ammunition, drones, and electronic warfare equipment have been resolved, the army chief stated.
Situation on Pokrovsk and Dobropillia fronts
On Aug. 11, Bohdan Krotevych, former chief of staff of the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade (call sign Tavr), warned President Volodymyr Zelenskyy via X about the dire situation along the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka line.
“There is effectively no fixed line of contact,” he wrote. “Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are nearly encircled, and Kostiantynivka is semi-encircled. The enemy is advancing toward Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka.”
Analysts from the DeepState monitoring group had earlier reported that Russian forces were making significant advances near Dobropillia in Pokrovsk district. If Russian troops consolidate their positions, they could prepare for deeper incursions into Ukrainian territory, deploying drone crews to disrupt alternative logistics and complicate Ukrainian defenses.
“Unless the situation changes, Dobropillia could fall faster than Pokrovsk,” DeepState concluded.
On Aug. 9, Britain’s Ministry of Defense reported Russia likely captured 500–550 square kilometers in Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast in July 2025.
