Ukrainian lawmakers not considering younger mobilization age despite military requests

He explained that the Armed Forces have expressed a need for personnel aged 47 to 50, as some brigade commanders report difficulties in completing combat tasks with this age group.

The deputy stressed the importance of "establishing order" within the Armed Forces so that better-prepared individuals are not assigned to support roles.

"When society sees organization within the Armed Forces, we can discuss lowering the mobilization age or implementing a more professional mobilization strategy. We believe that mobilization should not involve 'grabbing everyone at once,' but rather targeting those capable of fulfilling specific tasks," the deputy said.

He also noted that lowering the mobilization age is not currently on his committee's agenda and is not being discussed in the Verkhovna Rada.
